How To: Natural Brightening Face Mask

Here’s a great easy-to-make recipe for an instant face brightening mask made from natural ingredients from your refrigerator and pantry: Turmeric, Oats, Honey & Yogurt Mask – Turmeric is an incredible ani-inflammatory ingredient with brightening and cleansing properties. Oatmeal is smoothing and soothing to the skin, honey adds moisture and is a natural antibacterial agent, and yogurt is a gentle exfoliator.

You will need:

  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • 3 tablespoons of ground oats (use a food processor or coffee grinder)
  • 1 tablespoon of raw honey
  • 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt

After you have grinded the oats, then combine all ingredients (turmeric powder, ground oats, honey and yogurt). Mix items into a thick paste and add more honey or oats depending on consistency. Gently apply to skin and let sit and absorb for approximately 10 minutes. Finally, rinse with warm water to remove all residue of the mask.

FYI: Use organic ingredients whenever possible. Also, be careful not to stain your clothes with this mask, but don’t worry about it staining your face.
